It's a single musical decade for the foreseeable future on The Early Years as I begin the biggest countdown I've yet done this week; the top 600 of the 1960s as tabulated by Sirius XM Radio in 2019 based on listener feedback on their "60s on 6" channel.

This week, the "Juke In The Back" spotlights the "Prince of Primitive Cool," Rosco Gordon. His mostly self-penned tunes, feature his unique blend of mid-tempo shuffle with a slightly behind-the-beat rolling barrelhouse piano line. He was a master at making his recordings sound rough, but there was also a lot of blues sophistication buried under the simplicity.
