Listen up! From 9 October, Mushroom FM's getting a fresh coat of paint

If you check the Mushroom FM schedule over the coming week, you'll notice that next week's schedule looks quite different from this week's. That's because Mushroom FM's making some changes.

We're still your station for four decades of magic mushroom memories, but now, you can hear fun guys on-air more often. And on those much rarer occasions when there's no fun guy on-air, you have a much bigger say in what we play than ever before. Want the scoop? Read on.

We've heard loud and clear from you that you like listening to Mushroom FM best when there's a fun guy to keep you company. And we're also realistic enough to know that you can't listen to us 24/7. Aw, sad but true.

So we've combined these two facts to bring you an improved schedule to make it easier to hear your favourite shows.
Several fun guys host shows every week day. Now, you can hear those shows twice a day, on the AM and the PM. Anthony is now unleashed twice as often, at 2 AM and PM Eastern. The Smorgasbord with Me, Jonathan Mosen, can be sampled at 3 AM and PM. Jeff Molzow's Mushroom Munch has been extended to two hours, and is now at 9 AM and PM. If you like some 80s during your US work day, you're now in luck. 80s Lady with Bonnie Mosen moves to 11 AM, repeated at 11 PM.

Sara Hillis is here for two Hillisious hours of the Sara Hillis show at 12 Noon and midnight.

These changes mean that we've moved a few other shows around. The schedule and the blog will tell you more as the week unfolds.

As the old infomercials say, "but wait, there's more". On those rare occasions when there's no fun guy on-air, we're putting you in control like never before. We're calling these hours the Mushroom FM request stop. Rather than limit requests to a couple each hour as we used to do, if enough listeners request things, the whole hour can now be consumed by listener requests. Note that to make it fair for everyone, we limit requests to one per listener per hour. But if you request a song, and there's nothing else ahead of you in the request queue, you'll hear it on air right after the currently playing song. How nifty is that? More interactive, more fun.

Finally, our music library continues to expand and receive tweaks based on your feedback. From 9 October, we're confident we'll bring you an even better mix that will have you listening longer.

Our team has been busy getting ready for these changes for a while now, and we can't wait for next Monday when we unveil them.

Thanks so much for being a part of the mushroom crowd. You make it worthwhile. We hope you enjoy our fresh coat of paint.
