A show of themes and variations this week on The Early Years!

join me for The Early Years where you'll hear the best music from Rock and Roll's Golden Age (its first quarter century) with an occasional nod to other decades and genres.
I have a variety of things this week. In hour 1, it's the final part of my 9-part, listener-suggested theme begun Nov. 2, 2019, "Seconds" (the songs not the time interval). If an artist's first song reached #1, what did their second song do?
I'll pick up the theme in January 1976 and continue to the end of what I consider to be Rock and Roll's Golden Age, its first quarter century, 1979.
I'll begin hour 2 with a variation of my "Seconds" theme suggested by another listener. You'll hear three song pairs each containing the same song by two different artists that both reached #1.
Then I'll remember Roy Lesperance who sang bass with The Chantones, Jack Scott's backup singers. Roy died Dec. 30, 2019, eighteen days after Jack Scott. Do you believe in coincidences?
I'll finish the hour with a miscellany of songs.
You can contact me any time by email at steve@mushroomfm.com with comments about the show and suggestions for future shows; and anything else you want to talk about as well.
So join me, Steve Cutway, in The Early Years, for a show of themes and variations, tonight at 06:00 PM, before Snow White FM. The show replays Wednesday morning at 07:00 AM, before a Mushroom FM Request stop while Anthony Unleashed enjoys a vacation, only on Mushroom FM, the home of the fun guys, making four decades of magic mushroom memories!
