'Tis the Last Songs of Summer, this Week on Come by the Hills!

Join me this Sunday evening at 8:00 PM Eastern for Come By The Hills: the Celtic Music Show, when we'll salute the fact that it's now September, the time when summer ends and the harvest begins in the Northern Hemisphere. Indeed, there was a time when the September Equinox would have marked the middle of Autumn rather than its outset. So, we'll be remembering the summer that is past and hoping for a plentiful harvest to come, with songs about the cycles of nature and about summer-related activities.

We'll have our usual features: including a couple of top fiddlers doing duets with other fine musicians in "Fiddlin' Around," a folk-art-rock cover of a fine old harvest song in "Celtic Covers," and a Scots Galic song in "What's That About?", which is also surprisingly on theme.

We'll hear from plenty of Canadian artists, some fine Celtic guitar, a Celtic-rock band from Germany, some vintage Pentangle, Battlefield Band, Wolfstone and some post-Sandy Denny Fairport Convention. We'll even hear a fantastic medley of French-Canadian folk songs performed by a band from my general stomping-grounds, Southern Ontario.

So before the weather turns cold and the leaves turn to gold, join me for summer's last hurrah and the coming of harvest-time on Come By The Hills: the Celtic Music Show, Sunday night from 8:00 to 11:00 Eastern, with a replay on Friday at 4:00 AM Eastern, 9:00 AM in the UK and Ireland!
