Mayday, Mayday, Mayhem, it's The Mosen Explosion

Mayday Mayday Mayday! That’s what I say.

Have you ever wondered why Mayday is the distress call used by ships and aircraft? I haven’t, until I sat down to write this wee message to you, and then I thought, hmmm, I thought. Why is Mayday the distress call used by ships and aircraft? So I asked what Bonnie lovingly calls Mr Google about it. Mr Google tells me that it is actually an anglicization of the French for “help me”. So there ya go, aren’t you so glad you have me in your life to tell you these things, and that I, in turn, have Google in mine to tell them to me so I can tell them to you? Oh my head hurts!

It’s going to be the first day of May in New Zealand when I next take to the air to bring you the jolly old Mosen Explosion, and the start of the second third of the year. But in the northern hemisphere, you guys will still be in April! Keep up! Keep up I tell you!

But one thing I can assure you of. After 4 hours of the Mosen Explosion, you’ll be ready to send out a Mayday call of your own.

If you missed Richard’s epic Richter Scale show, I’ll be playing you some of the new stereo mixes of the Sgt Pepper album, even though they’re not being released until 26 May! Golly!

I’ll be updating you with our saga to find just the right TV, and yes, there is progress of a substantive nature to report.

There are some super musical birthdays to acknowledge this week.

Bonnie is here with her bulletin, and hopefully you will be here with your emails, calls and tweets. I love the fact that our wonderful Mushroom crowd takes the show in directions that I don’t anticipate when I fire up the mic for another week.

Do join me, because the Mosen Explosion is all about compelling conversation and companionship, and marvellous magnificent Mosen music and mayhem.

We’re on Mushroom FM at 2 PM Easter, 7 PM UK, that’s 6 AM in New Zealand, where we’re so totally advanced, we have fibre optic cable all over the place and will be well into next month before you are. The place to be is on Mushroom FM. http://www.MushroomFM.com
