The “Juke In The Back” features The Ravens, an R&B vocal group that set the stage for all the groups that would follow. With Jimmy Ricks’ bass lead and some tremendous harmony behind him, The Ravens were the predecessors to the doo wop music that would follow in the 1950s.

This time, it's a repeat of last year's live show celebrating Canadian Thanksgiving from October 9, 2021. We've got lots of John Barleycorn for you, songs about being thankful, and a whole lot more. I'm doing this because I have the rare ability to attend thanksgiving meals this year with both sections of my family, and I can't wait! Today, we lost a true treasure of Country music in Loretta Lynn. With a career spanning many decades and a talent for telling complicated stories in a simple and relatable way, she was the undisputed Queen of Country. So, on Sara Smiles for two entire hours, on Wednesday, October 5, I'll be honouring her life and work with songs and stories about her life and also her impact on my own life. As I grew up in a primarily Country-influenced household, Loretta's music simply became a part of my DNA.
This week on Deep Dive we enjoy the singing, songwriting and guitar-playing talents of James Taylor. We meet the handyman, here about sweet baby James, and go up on the roof.
