Remembering a Friend and More, this Week on Come by the Hills!

It's almost time for another episode of Come by the Hills, Mushroom FM's Folk and Celtic music show, and today, I've got something rather special in honour of a well-beloved and still-grieved friend who passed away very suddenly six years ago today. Thanks to the miracle of the internet, I actually have a bit of her voice to play for you, and I'll also be playing some of her favourite Folk songs in the course of the show. Her name is Shannon, and if you're a regular listener, you'll know I reference her a lot. There's a good reason for that; as we were growing up, we took turns introducing each other to various kinds of music and books, and generally enjoyed discovering new things about the world together. She is one of those people whose presence in my life has shaped me as a person, and I don't mind admitting that her death still haunts me, due to its sudden and still-as-yet-unexplained nature. So, I hope you'll join me as we share three hours of great music, including some of Shannon's own favourites and even some of Shannon's own voice, for it's a voice that should not be silenced or forgotten, at least while those who love her still remain.

Catch Come by the Hills live on Saturday at 2:00 PM eastern, or check out the replay on Tuesday at 5:00 AM Eastern. This show will also be uploaded to Mixcloud later today, and you can find it and some of my past shows at: https://www.mixcloud.com/sarahillis. However and whenever you listen, I hope you'll enjoy it!
