The Mosen Explosion is checking in, looking forward, looking back, geeking out

Oh my word oh my word! Another extraordinary week has come and gone. I hope you’re keeping safe and coping OK and that you’ll join me for another Mosen Explosion on Mushroom FM.

It’s incredible, but we’re only a couple of weeks away from Mushroom FM’s 10th birthday. Recent events have reminded me all over again what a special family connection we have with our audience. We’ve got some cool celebrations in store for you that we would be honoured to have you a part of. I’ll tell you about some of them on this week’s show.

Tommy Brown this week on The Juke In The Back!

The Juke In The Back” focuses on the “soul that came before rock n’ roll,” the records that inspired Elvis, Buddy Holly, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and countless others.
Tommy Brown is one of the unsung blues shouters of the Rhythm & Blues Era. His only two charting records were done with the Griffin Brothers on Dot Records in 1951. He’ll always be remembered for the #1 smash, “Weepin’ & Cryin’,” but Brown had so many tremendous records under his own name that Matt The Cat just had to feature an entire “Juke In The Back” program on Tommy Brown.

Beethoven 250 on Viva: The Classical Music Show this week

Well it's lockdown here in New Zealand which is slightly annoying but the show must go on.

This week on Viva it's Beethoven Symphony no 2 op 34. Along with that we have Mozart K576 and some Schubert from kathleen Ferrier.
Hope to see you there on Sunday at 8am US Eastern time or on Tuesday in NZ.

More songs about music this week on The Early Years!

After The Mosen Explosion tomorrow afternoon, join me for The Early Years where you'll enjoy the best music from Rock and Roll's Golden Age (its first quarter century) with an occasional nod to other decades and genres.

We're exploding once again as the times make some final changes for a while

If you’re in Europe or the UK, the fact that you sprung forward last weekend means the Mosen Explosion is back to its usual 7 PM UK Start time, that’s 8 PM in Central Europe.
If you’re in New Zealand and Australia, we fall back this weekend, meaning the show starts earlier. Oh boy!

So if all that’s left you thoroughly confused, the Mosen Explosion is back for three hours of music, conversation and interaction at 2 PM Eastern, 7 PM UK, and 6 AM in New Zealand.

It's Another Virtual House Concert, this Week on Come by the Hills!

It's a new month, but we're all still in a crazy situation that doesn't look like changing very soon. However, music is good for the soul on many levels, and that's as true for the one playing it as for the one hearing it. So, I've decided to do another virtual house concert on Sunday's Celtic music show. I'll also play some of our usual music of course, but much of the show will feature me and my harp. again, I think I'll just start playing and see where we end up. After all, as Lao Tsu said, "a good traveler has no fixed plans and is not intent upon arriving."
