A birthday, an anniversary and more music from 1969 and 1970 from the best country in the world this week on The Early Years!
After you've enjoyed The Variety Vault with Paul Merrell, Wednesday afternoon from 2 to 4 PM, don't touch that dial, device, PC, Mac, smart speaker or tablet and join me for The Early Years, where and when you'll hear the best music from the first quarter century of Rock with nods to other decades and genres.
One of the things I like to do on The Early Years during the almost 10 years I've been doing the show is to celebrate happy events in listeners' lives. This week, long time listeners and much longer time friends, John and Laurie, who live in Mississauga, Ontario (Sara's home town), a city west of Toronto, and who have contributed many song suggestions to the show over the years, will celebrate both Laurie's birthday tomorrow and their 55th wedding anniversary on Friday, 1 day apart. I'll begin this week's show by celebrating Laurie's birthday and their wedding anniversary with words and music.
After that, two years of Canadian music, 1969-70, will be in the spotlight as I continue Canadiana, the theme I started seven weeks ago. This is part 7. Some songs you'll know, others perhaps not.
Next week, I'll take a break from this theme and begin two year-end Billboard top 100 charts from 1956 and 1966.
You can contact me any time by email at steve at mushroomfm.com with comments about the show and suggestions for future shows, particularly suggestions for Canadian music which theme will return after my year-end charts from 1956 and 1966.
So join me, Steve Cutway, as I celebrate a birthday and anniversary, and continue playing the best music from the best country in the world and talking about it sharing personal memories and reminiscences, Wednesday afternoon at 4 PM, where and when I will make musical and magical memories, after The Variety Vault with Paul Merrell, and before Story Untold with PJ Noce. Then stay tuned for The Mosen explosion. The Early Years will replay Friday morning at 7 AM, after Decades in HD with PJ Noce and before The Mosen explosion with Jonathan Mosen, only on Mushroom FM, the home of the fun guys, making four decades of magic mushroom memories.
