Lots to Listen to, this Week on Come by the Hills!

Hello again! Sara Hillis here to tell you about this week's episode of Come by the Hills, the Folk and Celtic Music show here on Mushroom FM. It's another grab-bag of goodies, including a Stan Rogers song which I for one had never heard till today. I'm also sick of hearing truck-horns blaring over the newscasts I listen to lately, so I thought I'd play a couple of vintage protest songs. I think that's what protests nowadays are missing: a good sing-along! Seriously though, I hope this show is a cure for whatever February blahs might be yours at this moment. I know it helps me.

Mini-themes, Me Music Moved and More, this Week on Come by the Hills!

Hello! Sara Hillis here to tell you about this week's edition of Come by the Hills, Mushroom FM's Folk and Celtic Music show. Every once in a while, I like to program mini-themes, which are groups of songs that are somehow related. This week, I've got songs about highways and highwaymen, hills, roads, flying and much more! We'll hear a Leonard Cohen classic, move the "Me Music" feature back to where it used to be in the first hour of the show, and generally have a great time.

It's Robby Burns and All Things Scottish, this Week on Come by the Hills!

Yes, it's almost that time of January again, time to dust off the kilts and dig into the Haggis and celebrate the man whose poetry and song have made Scotland famous the world over. Yes, it's Robby Burns Day on January 25, so we're doing our usual celebrations this week on Come by the Hills. Known as the peasant poet, Robert Burns wrote poetry about love, nature, politics and many other aspects of Scottish life as he knew it.

It's a Bit of Everything, this Week on Come by the Hills!

Hello! Sara Hillis here again to let you know that I've got a little bit for everyone this week on Come by the Hills, the Folk and Celtic music show here on Mushroom FM. There are songs about trains and songs about buses, and there's even a song about Tom Dooley Junior! Spoiler alert, the acorn doesn't fall very far from the oak. I promise it will be an interesting journey as always, so why not come along?

'Tis the week before Christmas, and all through the house
There's no one but me here, my dog and my spouse.
But fortunately I have something to do,

And perhaps one or two that will give you a tear,
So join me for music to cure all your ills
