On 5 August, 1967 Pink Floyd’s first studio album, The Piper At The Gates of Dawn was released.
This makes it’s 50 years ago today.
So to celebrate this, from 11pm Eastern tonight, that’s 3pm Sunday in New Zealand and 4am Sunday in the UK, it’s a four-hour Pink Floyd show.
And because it’s a four hour show, I have a challenge for you.
Simply send me an e-mail with your favourite Pink Floyd song, and also album.
Hopefully, if we get enough responses, we can see what track/album is number one according to Mushroom FM listeners.

We sometimes meet people, some of them blind, who suggest that there’s a real advantage to being blind. Specifically, we’re likely to be less judgmental, less discriminatory, about visual factors that we can’t see. Proponents of this view argue that because we can’t see the colour of someone’s skin, we’re more likely to make assessments based on the content of their character. We don’t, it is said, no so readily whether someone’s short or tall, fat or thin, the quality of their clothes. This makes us, so the argument goes, more tolerant people.
I have just returned from my vacation and am suitably happy to be home. The cottage was lovely and the company was even better, and consequently, I'm quite pleasantly nackered. Don't worry though. We at Mushroom FM have planned for this eventuality, and for the first time in the history of Come by the Hills, the Celtic Music Show, your host for this week will not be me, Sara Hillis. Instead, Anne Cosgrove, fellow fun guy and Celtic enthusiast, has a great show lined up with some amazing song and artist selections!

Every day, every day, every day, every day I write the book. Oh baby! But I’m taking a wee break from writing the book to bring you another thoroughly forgettable edition of the jolly old Mosen Explosion at 2 Pm Eastern, 7 PM in the Kingdom of U.
It’s hosted by me, Jonathan Mosen, the man of whom the famous Anthony Scaramucci, AKA “the mooch” said, “Mosen’s nothing but a paranoid souping soup drinker and a Baker Street lover, out to tap his own cane and we should explode the whole communications team”. Dude, such language!

Sandwiched between Mushroom FM's flagship program, the Mosen Explosion, and Come By The Hills, tonight hosted by Anne Cosgrove, is a little 2-hour show I call The Early Years.
Hello, I'm Steve Cutway. It's a variety of 50s and 60s music this week with lots of version comparisons, including a tripple one that spans 35 years; a same-title-different-song pair suggested by a listener; and a couple of rain songs, one of which is also a summer song, also suggested by a listener.

Yes that’s right, the decorations are up, and very soon four hours of Christmas music will be blasting live from The Shed.
From 11pm Eastern tonight, that’s 3pm Sunday in New Zealand and 4am in the UK, it’s Christmas in July.
Or should that be a mid-winter Christmas, or perhaps a mid-summer Christmas?

Hi, I'm Steve Cutway sitting in again this week for Bruce Toews; but Bruce has had a definite hand in this weeks selection of the best comedy from around the world. The Purple People Eater will meet The Witch Doctor; they'll be a tribute to "My Pa" that most fathers probably wouldn't want; we'll drop in on a New York City FM DJ; hear about radio sensors; and listen to what probably is many people's least favourite instrument. Last week, we finished The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy so tonight we begin our new episodic series that I'm exstatic about.
