This Saturday at 12am Eastern, that’s 4pm Saturday in NZ, 2pm in Sydney and 5am in the UK, and repeated every four hours throughout the day, it’s The described movies Sergeant York from 1941, and Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House from 1948.
Sergeant York is a 1941 American biographical film about the life of Alvin C. York, one of the most decorated American soldiers of World War I.
The "Juke In The Back" focuses on the " soul that came before rock n' roll," the records that inspired Elvis, Buddy Holly, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and countless others.
"Juke In The Back" completes its 2 part special on the great Chuck Willis. This week, in part 2, we focus on Chuck's amazing crossover success in the late 1950s with huge pop hits like "C. C. Rider," "Betty And Dupree," "What Am I Livin' For" and "Hang Up My Rock n' Roll Shoes." Willis' career ended with him on top after his tragic death in 1958 at the age of 30.
This week on Deep Dive we enjoy the talents of American lyricist, song writer and singer Carol Bayer Sager. We hear sweet alibis, that we are moving out today, and that we should not wish too hard.
Tune in at 4 PM Eastern Monday, which is 6 AM Tuesday in Eastern Australia. Or at 6 AM Eastern Wednesday, which is 8 PM in Eastern Australia. That SmartSpeaker of yours is definitely smart enough to play Mushroom FM - you just have to ask.

On September 18, it's not just the birthday of Frankie Avalon. It's also the birthday of our mother/mother-in-law/Nana, Karen Riccobono! In honor of her birthday, per my husband, Mark's request, the entire show this week is dedicated to Karen. We'll hear a variety of music both sentimental and humorous by such artists as The Carpenters, John Denver, Barbra Streisand, Roger Miller, and, of course, Sir Paul McCartney and The beatles.
It's almost time for another episode of Come by the Hills, Mushroom FM's Folk and Celtic music show, and today, I've got something rather special in honour of a well-beloved and still-grieved friend who passed away very suddenly six years ago today. Thanks to the miracle of the internet, I actually have a bit of her voice to play for you, and I'll also be playing some of her favourite Folk songs in the course of the show. Her name is Shannon, and if you're a regular listener, you'll know I reference her a lot.
After you've enjoyed Come By The Hills with Sara Hillis, tomorrow afternoon from 02:00 PM to 05:00 PM, don't touch that dial, device, PC, Mac, smart speaker or tablet and join me for The Early Years where and when you'll hear the best music from the first half of the Rock and Roll era with nods to other decades and genres.

Our popular series about offshore radio continues this weekend in our rockumentary slot.
Over the last couple of weeks, we've told the turbulent story of Radio England and Britain Radio, stations with wealthy backers, big budgets, and initially, programming entirely unsuitable for the audiences they were trying to serve, particularly where Radio England was concerned.
As we heard last week, Britain Radio was rebranded to Radio 355 and was having better success. However, due to the imminent passage of the Marine Offenses Bill, Radio 355 closed at the end of 5 August 1967.
The "Juke In The Back" focuses on the " soul that came before rock n' roll," the records that inspired Elvis, Buddy Holly, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and countless others.
